“First actual case of bug being found.”

The bugs are all crazy.
In 1947, at Harvard University’s laboratory, the team operating the Harvard Mark II computer encountered a mysterious malfunction. After opening the panel, they discovered a moth crushed between the relays. They taped it into the logbook and wrote:
“First actual case of bug being found.”
Curiously, the term “bug” had already been used in engineering since the late nineteenth century to refer to technical faults, but this moth sealed the myth. Error, as a living creature, became a symbol that machines are never entirely ours.
If we are capable of devoting time to documenting the path of a caterpillar amid the chaos of a city, we are performing an act of deceleration.
For Julia Kristeva, the abject (developed in Powers of Horror, 1980) refers to that which the subject rejects, expels, or finds repulsive in order to constitute its identity and maintain the symbolic order. It is neither subject nor object, but rather a liminal border that threatens to collapse the boundary between the self and the other, provoking both horror and fascination.
Emilio Bianchic’s Entomicons allow trivialities to become the main characters. The Entomicons open up a multiplicity of readings, ranging from the comic to the deeply tragic. The Entomicons narrate the natural world anew, in a frank conjugation of uncertainties.
